Not Picking Up

PLEASE NOTE: If your are in anyway unsure of any of the steps listed below. Please consult a qualified electrician and always remove the plug from the socket before commencing work.


At the first sign that your Dyson is not picking up as it should. Always check the filters first. Examine both the pre motor filter (The blue sponge filter in the yellow carrier) and the post motor filter (Located below the bin). If the pre motor filter is dirty then wash it under warm soapy water or replace it. If the post motor filter is dirty it must be replaced it cannot be washed.


If both of the filters are clean then check for blockages by following the steps detailed below.

 

1. Start by removing the hose from the main inlet by simply pulling it free.

 


2. Detach the hose clip from the main body by pulling the tab away from the cleaner and lifting it upwards.

 


3. Press both of the buttons on the hose cuff either side of the wand, to detach the hose from the wand.

 

4. Detach the wand from the extension tube then the extension tube from the floor tool. Once all the parts have been separated. Starting with the floor tool. Examine each part in turn ensuring that there are no blockages and no splits anywhere between the floor tool and the Dyson's air inlet.
