D) BLOCKED FILTERS
All Vacuum cleaners rely on good airflow for maximum suction. It is very important to ensure that the filters on your Dyson are as clean as possible.
1. Firstly check the Pre Motor Filter, which is located in a cage at the side of your Dyson. It should look like the filter pictured below.
If it looks like the one in the next image it must be replaced or at least cleaned. To clean the filter, remove the filter from it's cage and wash it in warm soapy water. Ensure that the filter is thoroughly dry before refitting to your Dyson.
2. Next, check the Post Motor Filter which is located under the bin. This filter may either be a thin pad style filter or a thick round HEPA filter with a purple case. Whichever filter you have it must be clean on both sides.
If you have a pad style filter and it looks like the filter below it must be replaced or cleaned. If you have a purple HEPA filter and there is blackening on the upper (printed) surface it must be replaced, this filter cannot be washed.
