For many years, Henry vacuum cleaners have stood out in a world dominated by inanimate appliances. Easily distinguishable by his large smiling face, Henry’s friendly visage has helped him to turn the mundane task of vacuuming into something altogether more fun and in the process, endearing him to millions of consumers worldwide.

Henry vacuum cleaners were first born way back in 1980, and as he approaches his 30th Birthday, over 6 million Henry’s have found homes all over the world. Although they may look like a children’s toy, Henry vacuum cleaners offer performance that deserves to be taken seriously. The units are famed for their excellent suction, reliability and ease of use, helping them to become a favourite in hotels, hospitals and other commercial premises, thanks to the wide range of Henry Spares available.

Since their launch, Henry vacuum cleaners have been constantly updated and improved. From an original 800watt motor, 900, 1000, 1100 and a powerful 1200watt unit have been added to the range. Henry vacuum cleaners are also now available in a range of additional colours to the traditional red.

So successful are Henry vacuum cleaners that they have spawned a number of spin offs, with a whole series of characters being added to the range. These include a pink female variety in the form of Hetty (short for Henrietta.)

Henry vacuum cleaners, however, remain the flagship of the range and this led to it receiving an overhaul in 2006. This included the addition of 2 'rocker' type switches on the top of the cleaner, one the on/off switch, the other, ‘Twinflo’ controls, which allow the motor to be turned down or up, depending on the task in hand. The new Henry vacuum cleaners also feature a redesigned central exhaust port at the back and a new 360 degree rubber bumper, to stop damage to walls and doors during operation.
