Changing the Switch

PLEASE NOTE: If your are in anyway unsure of any of the steps listed below. Please consult a qualified electrician and always remove the plug from the socket before commencing work.

1. Start by removing the cyclone/bin assembly.

 

2. After unwinding the cable from the rear of the Dyson. Use a Torx T15 screwdriver to remove the screw holding the switch plate assembly onto the main body.

3. Grasp the switch cover assembly firmly, then pull it away from the main body. (The switch sometimes comes away from its holder in the main body)

 

4. Disconnect the brown (Live) wires from the switch and then attach them to the new switch.

 

5. Using a large flat screwdriver, ensure that the cable is still firmly in it's place.

 

6. Push the connector, connecting the two blue wires together into the slot on the left.

 

7. Push the switch back into it's holder.

8. Refit the Switch holder and then replace the holding screw.
