Changing the Cable
PLEASE NOTE: If your are in anyway unsure of any of the steps listed below. Please consult a qualified electrician and always remove the plug from the socket before commencing work.
1. Start by removing the cyclone/bin assembly.

2. After unwinding the cable from the rear of the Dyson. Use a Torx T15 screwdriver to remove the screw holding the switch plate assembly onto the main body.

3. Grasp the switch cover assembly firmly, then pull it away from the main body.

4. After taking careful note of the cables path behind the switch cover. Remove the brown (live) spade connector from the switch, then seperate the blue (neutral) connectors.

5. Pull the cable and grommet away from the Dyson and cut the cable to allow the cable to be withdrawn through the grommet.

6. Push the new cable through the grommet and then fit the plastic spade covers onto the ends of the spade connectors. (If you find that it is dificult to push the cable through the grommet then lubricate the cable with a little washing up liquid and then wipe the cable afterwards.)

7. Slide the grommet, with the new cable in it, into it's slot at the side of the switch holder.

8. Connect the two blue (neutral) wires together. Then connect the brown (live) wire of the cable to the switch.

9. Using a large flat screwdriver, gently push the cable into it's slot in the main body.

10. Push the connector, connecting the two blue wires together, into the slot on the left.

11. Push the switch back into it's holder.

12. Refit the Switch holder and then replace the holding screw.
