Replacing the Brush Roll
PLEASE NOTE: Always remove the plug from the socket before commencing work.
1. Start by laying your Dyson onto it's back and, using a two pence piece, turn each of the three soleplate fasteners a quarter of a turn in an anti-clockwise direction.

2. Remove the soleplate by prising it, underneath the centre soleplate fastener, away from the cleaner head.

3. Grasp the brush Roll in the centre and carefully pull it away from the cleanerhead.

4. Carefully rotate the brush roll to 'unwind' it from the belt. You must take great care doing this as the edges are very sharp where the belt passes through the cleaner. (You may find it easier to remove the black plastic end cap from the brush roll)

On reassembly, you may find it easier to pull the belt out of the cleaner head using a large screwdriver, to allow the brush roll to be inserted into the belt.
Reassembly is a simple matter of reversing the steps listed above.
