Replacing the Belt

PLEASE NOTE: If your are in anyway unsure of any of the steps listed below. Please consult a qualified electrician and always remove the plug from the socket before commencing work.

1. Remove the soleplate assembly by removing the 3 crosshead screws (arrowed) and gently pulling the soleplate away from the cleaner head.

2. Holding the brush roll firmly, pull the brush roll out of the cleaner head. The belt will become untensioned as soon as the brush roll is removed. So please be careful and hold the cleaner firmly with your other hand.

3. Remove the old belt by sliding it over the end of the brush roll and replace it with a new one. Ensure that the belt fits into the belt groove. Then, paying careful attention to the shape of the end caps (arrowed) fit the brush roll into the cleaner head.

4. Replace the belt onto the motor shaft by inserting the shaft of a large screwdriver into the loop of the belt (arrowed) and stretching it over the motor shaft. Paying careful attention not to damage the belt. Before refitting the soleplate, gently rotate the brush roll to ensure that it rotates freely and that the belt is not trapped in anyway.

5. Refit the soleplate by hooking the top of the soleplate into the cleaner head (arrowed) and then pushing the bottom section in toward the cleaner. Then tighten the 3 crosshead screws.
